ROLLING UPDATES: Sumitomo Electric Lightwave’s Coronavirus (COVID-19) Statement

4/02/2020 – SEL’s Raleigh, NC (201 South Rogers Lane, Suite 100) facility will be closed until Monday, April 6th at 7:00AM. This closure is out of an abundance of caution and does not confirm any COVID-19 cases in our facility. During this time, our facility will be professionally cleaned to ensure the safety of our essential employees.

3/27/2020 – Wake County, NC recently issued a county-wide Proclamation of Emergency Restrictions in an effort to slow the spread of COVID-19. CISA (Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency) considers Sumitomo Electric Lightwave an essential business under the Information Technology Sector. We will remain open and will be supporting the proclamation by having eligible employees work remotely.

3/26/2020 – As Sumitomo Electric Lightwave (SEL) responds to COVID-19, the health and safety of our employees and customers remains our top priority. The work we do is critical to making sure optical networks are up and running, and we’re committed to being there when our customers and colleagues need us most.

Here’s how we’re responding:

  • SEL has begun a voluntary work-from-home program with eligible employees to minimize large gatherings. Eligible employees have been furnished with necessary tools to ensure our customers continue to receive our industry-leading products in timely manner.
  • Our Manufacturing team and Repair services are fully operational at this time.
  • SEL has financially contributed to our local healthcare system to deploy mobile outreach units in our community. This will ensure our neighbors receive top-tier healthcare close to home.

As always, we are ready to assist you during this difficult time.

Safety First,

The SEL Team
